Hello Charger Family! Welcome to the BMS Band Program. Together we will create an amazing band program focusing on excellence in performance and creating traditions that will last for years to come. The program includes Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced level bands.
About me
Stephen Howell is a native of Hernando Mississippi, and taught band for 4.5 years at Hernando Middle School. Mr. Howell recently retired from the United States Marine Corps, having served as a Military Musician for 20 years. During his career, he served as Percussion Instrumentalist, Drum Major, Ceremonial Conductor, Ensemble Leader, and Band Officer. He holds an Associate of Arts, a Bachelor of Music Education, and a Master of Education. Mr. Howell currently resides in Newport, NC with wife Dorothy, daughters Destiny and Cadence, and two Golden Retrievers Scout and Dixie.
